Website Scroll Video vs Link to Video

Link to Video is an online tool that records a public web page scrolling and exports it as an MP4. It is the closest thing to a like-for-like comparison: both start from a link.

The short answer

Link to Video records a public page as an H.264 MP4 at 30 fps, at 720p or 1080p when signed in, with Desktop, Mobile, Square and Social Portrait presets, Slow, Standard or Fast speeds and recordings of up to 60 seconds. Website Scroll Video exports MP4, WebM or GIF up to 4K at 60 fps, with a length you set to the second, four easing curves, pauses, hovers, pop-up removal, scroll animations and frames.

Which one fits

Both are good at something. This is when each is the better choice.

LChoose Link to Video if

  • A 30 fps MP4 at 1080p covers what you need.
  • Three speed presets are enough control.
  • You want a one-off guest preview without an account.

Choose Website Scroll Video if

  • You want 60 fps, 1440p or 4K, a WebM or a GIF.
  • You need an exact length, a chosen curve or a seamless loop.
  • You want pauses on sections and hover effects in the video.
  • You want a browser frame and a background without an editor.

What Link to Video does

Link to Video takes a public HTTP or HTTPS address and records the page as it scrolls, producing an H.264 MP4 at 30 fps with no audio. You choose a frame preset (Desktop at 16:9, Mobile, Social Portrait at 9:16 or Square) and a speed (Slow, Standard or Fast). Guests get one free preview recording a day at 720p; signed-in accounts can choose 1080p, get longer recordings and keep a history, with recordings stored for seven days by default. Each recording costs 10 of its credits.

Like any URL tool, it cannot open pages behind a login, a password or a CAPTCHA, local or private addresses, or sites that block automated browsers. The same is true here.

Where they differ

  • Quality ceiling. 30 fps and up to 1080p there; up to 60 fps and 4K here, or any exact size, with the page read at double density.
  • Pace. Three speed presets there. Here, the duration you set from 2 to 90 seconds decides the speed, and the curve decides how it starts and stops.
  • Formats. MP4 only there. MP4, WebM with transparency, or GIF here.
  • What happens during the scroll. Up to 6 pauses on chosen sections, a cursor that plays hover effects, holds at either end, and a Down and Back loop that repeats without a seam.
  • The finish. Pop-up removal, scroll animations through Live Capture, a browser frame, padding, corners, shadow and a background.

Price

Both use credits. Link to Video charges a flat 10 credits per recording and lists its plans on a separate pricing page. Website Scroll Video charges by the finished length and the settings you choose, shown exactly on the Export button before you press it, starting with 51 free credits at signup and packs of $5 for 100, $12 for 400 and $19 for 900 that never expire. Previews are free and no export is watermarked. How credits work explains the sum.
