Why it exists

I’m Aviral, a designer in New Delhi. A big part of my work is showing websites to people: a client’s new homepage, a portfolio piece, a launch post. The best way to show a site is to scroll through it, so I screen recorded it. Over and over.

Every take had something wrong with it. The wheel stuttered, a cookie banner sat over the hero, a chat bubble followed me down the page, or a frame dropped on the one section that mattered. One clean video could cost an afternoon of retakes and cropping.

So I stopped recording and started generating. Website Scroll Video reads the page once and calculates the motion, so the scroll is smooth on the first try and identical on the tenth. I built it for my own work first, then opened it up for everyone who shows websites for a living.

It is still a small, independent product, and I read every message that comes in. If something does not work the way you expected, tell me.

Nothing is recorded off a screen at any point. This is what the renderer does instead.

A real browser opens your page
It loads on our servers at desktop, tablet or phone width, and waits for fonts and lazy-loaded images to settle.
The clutter is cleared
Cookie banners, chat launchers and newsletter modals are removed, and the scroll lock they leave behind is released.
The page is read at double density
Every pixel is captured at 2x, so text stays sharp all the way to 4K. Sticky headers are laid back on top, pinned the way a visitor sees them.
The motion is calculated
A frame travels down the page along the easing you chose, at a locked 24, 30 or 60 fps, with your pauses and hovers on the same timeline.
Your file is encoded
The video is written out as an MP4, a WebM or a GIF. Change a setting afterwards and it renders again from the same read.

Is Website Scroll Video a screen recorder?

No. Nothing is captured from your screen. Your page is opened in a browser on our servers and the scroll is calculated frame by frame, so the video does not depend on your monitor, your mouse or how steady your hand is.

Is Website Scroll Video free?

You can start for free. Every new account gets 51 credits once, with no card required. After that, packs start at $5 and there is no subscription. No video is ever watermarked, whichever credits paid for it.

Which websites can it turn into a video?

Any public page that loads in a normal browser, whether it was built with Framer, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, WordPress or by hand. Pages behind a login, on a private network or that block automated browsers cannot be recorded.

What happens to my videos?

They are yours. We claim no rights over them. The finished file, its poster and the capture behind it are deleted about an hour after they are made, so download anything you want to keep.
